Tutor: Cherri-Bray-Bowden – Toccobaby

This one day course is aimed at Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Parents, Care Workers and Early Years Practitioners who would like to gain an additional skill in using massage within their practice.

This workshop is designed to improve understanding and awareness of the importance of touch and how touch can have a positive, stimulating and nurturing effect on us. It will help you develop skills and understanding of the massage techniques from both ‘Story massage’ and ‘IAIMS Infant massage’ and will allow everyone to experience the techniques through a practical environment.

This course will explore how massage can benefit everyone and how it is fully inclusive regardless of age or ability. The course will discuss adult/child and peer massage and you will begin to recognise how these techniques can be used for the child(ren) that you have contact with. The course will help to assist learning when used as an everyday tool, improve bonding and trust, help to recognise preference, improve social interaction, relieve stress and anxiety levels and assist with sleep patterns.

The course is led by Cherri Bray-Bowden who has over 20 years’ experience of working with children and families and is now a Massage Instructor who facilitates sessions and training within family homes, schools and charity settings.
