What is Makaton?

What is Makaton?

Makaton is a signing vocabulary and language programme used with children and adults with language and learning difficulties. It is used by families, carers, educators, support staff and a growing network of people. It helps people understand and gives a language system to individuals without speech, so that they can learn to communicate with us.

It is a simple system that is fun and easy to learn and has signs that are useful straight away.
