HEADS in partnership with Hadrian School are committed to supporting parents/carers not only from Hadrian School but from around the region.

HEADS are offering a portfolio of quality free training throughout the school year.

We appreciate that it can be difficult to attend training around childcare etc. all of our training courses run from 9.30am – 12.30pm to enable parents/carers to attend.

INTRODUCTION TO SENSORY LOSS – 19th February 2025

Hadrian School are facilitating an excellent bite size training opportunity on the 19th February, please see information below:

This course will help delegates to understand:

  • How our senses affect us on a daily basis
  • How it feels to have Sensory Loss
  • Finding out what can cause Sensory Loss
  • Ways to help and support people who have a Sensory Loss, alongside disabling conditions such as learning difficulties/physical disabilities
  • Knowing who the organisations are who provide support for individuals who have a Sensory Loss.

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS TRAINING – 26th March 2025

This course will help delegates to understand:

  • What is Mental Health
  • Do we always need a diagnosis
  • Types of Mental Health
  • Treatment Approaches
  • Fundamentals of Good Mental Health
  • How to support others

COMPLIMENTARY THERAPIES – 8th May 2025

Consider how complementary therapies can be used in person centred and holistic ways to help manage stress, pain and sleep problems. Introduce a number of complementary therapies which can be used by everyone. Discuss how to give a hand and foot massage. Learn a number of relaxation techniques. How these approaches have been used to help individuals with a range of problems.

An Introduction to ADHD – 24th June 2025

An introduction to what ADHD is and how people with ADHD may experience the world. Some common issues people with ADHD may have and ideas on how to support them. A celebration of neurodiversity and how being different can be positive for individuals and others.
