HEADS Training in partnership with Hadrian School are now running a 1-hour twilight session on AAI (Adrenaline Auto Injectors). Due to the tragic death of Benedict Blythe in 2021 who died from anaphylaxis due to an allergic reaction at school, his family have fighting to keep children safe in the school environment, please see more information below:

Benedict’s story

Benedict’s Law

Being a provider of First Aid to many local schools, we are very passionate about creating awareness of what might come, and what schools can do to keep staff and children safe on site. If this bill is passed, schools will have a responsibility to complete regular training on anaphylaxis, as well as have an AAI on site.

Please see below the new training course we can deliver to your school as a twilight session, or this can be delivered to smaller groups if you wish:

1 hour session training session includes:

  • Schools Allergy Register Bill (Benedicts Bill) and what it means for schools if the law passes
  • Common causes of Anaphylaxis
  • Different body responses
  • Why pens need to be near students
  • The need for spare AAI pens in schools
  • Urgent Recognition
  • Management including practice AAI’s

The cost of this session is ÂŁ395, and we can train your whole school staff in just 1 hour!

If you would like to book a session, please contact David Palmer – david.palmer@hadrian.newcastle.sch.uk or call 0191 273 4440
