Course Outline
The purpose of this unit is to provide learners’ with the knowledge and skills to enable them to administer basic massage to individuals with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The unit aims to enable parents, carers and responsible adults to gain an understanding of the therapeutic benefits of massage for individuals with SEND and to acquire the skills to enable them to perform basic arm massage techniques with the individual/s they care for.
Massage therapy has many benefits for everyone, this course aims to provide the benefits that can be perceived by individuals with SEND. Techniques learned during this course will be ideal for candidates to use after the course for the individual/s they care for.
Our course tutor Zoe Redshaw is a sport & exercise rehabilitation therapist who specialises in massage therapy for SEND.
